The thoughts of a first time retreater at Arrowhead Bible Camp
Sparkling water captures my eye, drawing my attention to two distinct islands dotting the lake. Was that a family of loons bobbing on the waves? Tall trees line the shoreline-a likely spot for some good bass fishing. Surely this beauty is something I’ve only seen in a magazine.
As I step out of the car, laughter and joyful conversation greet my ears. As if family reunited, there are people everywhere running towards one another and greeting with a warm hug or a pat on the shoulder.

I see a smiling face approaching me. It looks as if my greeter is coming to welcome me. That’s when I notice a gentle breeze on my face. I close my eyes and smile. The sun warms my skin as I imagine that breeze carrying away my burdens. I’m happy to leave them behind as I enter into my time here at Arrowhead.
